What makes our AGM power cells better than conventional batteries?
Our power cells deliver higher peak amps faster and provide up to twice the life of
conventional batteries. They are suspended with fiberglass mat seperators, which act
as absorbent sponges to deliver maintenance-free, hi-performance with a no leak
design, higher cranking amps, lower self discharge and greater vibration resistance.
|
 |
Is there any special consideration necessary for different climates?
Our power cells provide superior performance with zero maintenance in hot or cold weather.
|
 |
What kind of maintenance is necessary to extend the life of my power cell?
Our power cells were designed to be maintenance free, although if being stored for a long
period of time (approximately 6 months) it is recommended that you use our power cell
"maintainer" specifically designed to keep the power cell conditioned for its maximum life.
Our power cells hold a charge much better than conventional batteries when not in use.

Where can I mount my Kinetik HC Power Cell?
Our power cells can be mounted in any position, anywhere in your vehicle. Our power
cells are sealed non-spillable and were designed for any type of installation.

What is an AGM power cell?
AGM is an abbreviation for absorbed glass mat. With this design, the acid is completely
absorbed into glass mat separators which are sandwiched between the lead plates. It's a
totally sealed and maintenance free design. There are no discharge tubes or filler caps,
which eliminates the need to maintain water levels and offers no concern about acid leaks.

 |
Why is an AGM power cell better than a conventional battery?
- Sealed maintenance free design means you never have to worry about leakage (even when damaged) or checking water levels.
- AGM technology will not leak or corrode on paint and chrome.
- AGM power cells have less internal resistance which offers more CCA amperage than conventional batteries.
- AGM power cells are more heat and vibration resistant than conventional batteries, both which contribute to the large majority of failures.
- Slower self discharge rate (longer shelf life) means the power cell can sit for extended periods of time without constant monitoring. A conventional battery discharges 15% a month, our power cells discharge only 2-3% per month.

 |
Do I need to charge my power cell when I get it?
No. Our power cells are ready to go out of the box if installed within the first 30 days.

I have heard the HC 600 called the "Cap Killer", why?
- A capacitor discharges its entire capacity quickly. The "Cap Killer" can supply
substantially higher power for a much longer duration.
- The "Cap Killer" can stop your lights from dimming if the alternator and the
vehicles electrical system work properly, but will not "keep up" with the demand.
With over 100 times the power of a capacitor, the Kinetik "Cap Killer" will help
maintain the proper voltage and current required to power additional electronics
such as amplifiers and video equipment.
- You do not have to isolate the "Cap Killer" from the vehicle. The "Cap Killer"
was designed to supplement the energy storage capacity of your electrical system in
order to enhance the performance of aftermarket electonics. Isolating it from the electrical
system would defeat this purpose.
- Although the "Cap Killer" can be mounted almost anywhere in a vehicle, for optimum
performance it should be mounted as close to the load as possible.

What size power cell do I need for my vehicle?
When used as a supplemental power source, we recommend the HC 600 or the HC 800. For all other applications add up the total wattage of all amplifiers in the vehicle and add 1000 when replacing your
existing wet cell battery or 500 if you are retaining it.
Match and combine the HC model number rating of the power cells to reach your goal. You may require
more than one power cell for your system. For an exact determination of which power cells you should
purchase please refer to our Power Cell Calculator.

Will adding a Kinetik High Current Power Cell to my system overload my alternator?
Adding a Kinetik High Current Power Cell to your system will not overload the alternator. The internal
resistance of our power cells is very low and does not significantly increase the overall load on the electrical
system. Of course replacing your existing wet cell battery with a Kinetik Power Cell and adding
additional Kinetik Power Cells is always recommended over mixing battery technologies in the
same vehicle. Power cells with the same ESR values and technology will charge evenly and
supply balanced power to your system for maximum life and performance.
